This webinar will give participants an introduction to the principles of predictive modelling in health care and examples of how predictive models are being used in the NHS in England.

Dr. Steve Sutch and Alan Thompson from Johns Hopkins will provide an overview of the predictive models available within the Johns Hopkins Adjusted Clinical Groups (ACG®) System, how these models are constructed and the range of variables used in the predictions.

Chris Morris and Chetan Modha from NHS South, Central & West CSU (SCW) will cover the work that has been undertaken in collaboration with Johns Hopkins to improve the performance of the models through a recalibration exercise and how new predictive models were created in response to evolving heath care policy.

The session will conclude with two or three real world examples where the predictive models have facilitated improvements in the quality of care and reduced costs.
